The seasonal shift always feels so noticeable at this time of year as spring quietly gives way to summer.
Ranunculus and tulips make way for peonies and sweet peas as they come into season, while the grasses and wild flowers are growing abundantly and filling fields with colourful meadows.
Local produce like these strawberries and beetroot are more readily available, calling for family gatherings and time with friends. Although the days are longer, there’s a lovely slowness that goes with it. Hosting with intention and, especially true for us florists, making time to enjoy the season alongside the busyness that comes with it.
I’ve wanted to create a styled table setting ever since we moved to our new location in St Martins, Guernsey. I saw a beautiful shoot by Emma Cox last year which I often think about and was definitely an inspiration for this set up.
It is a lovely chance to showcase our products and the beautiful peaceful surroundings. This felt like a great opportunity to make the most of the weather before it turned again as it seems to!
Putting together a table setting like this always brings me back to the course I did with Roberta at the Good Florist and I feel so appreciative to have this space right next to our shop and studio. I have big dreams of hosting a workshop to create something like this along with some sort of supper club. It’s definitely something I’d love to host in the future so I thought I’d put the feelers out there!
The pieces we used here are available in our shop or drop us a message to find out more about anything you see. We can also order other pieces in from our various suppliers to help you create the summer garden table scape of your dreams!
